Who should attend:
This workshop is open to all adults, including clinicians, potential/current ArtReach Foundation volunteers and Board Members, community members, and others interested in experiencing the ArtReach creative arts group process. The ArtReach Foundation, Inc. has both domestic and international Projects to help adults and children traumatized by war and disaster to reconnect with their imagination and connect with others who are experiencing similar stressors and loss. The expressive arts allow for healing within the safe space of metaphor. Military and veteran family members, clinicians working with veterans and other traumatized populations, and Professional Providers interested in referring clients to future workshops or adapting our Model to their populations may attend. This Introductory workshop counts toward Phase 1 of the ArtReach Training Program. Note: attendance for the entire day required.

Workshop Description/Goals/Leaders:
One full day of self care and experiential learning using the therapeutic creative arts (drama, art, movement, music, creative writing, meditation and visualization) in group process led by ArtReach Trainers. The goals of the workshop are to experience the power of imagination/ creativity, increase connections to self and others, and provide an Introduction to The ArtReach Model. This work takes place in the “safe space” of a small group setting. ArtReach Trainers include registered/licensed creative arts therapists and licensed mental health professionals. This workshop will be co-led by Trainers Karen McCarty, LPC, Miranda S. Smith, LAPC, art therapist, and ArtReach Trainees.

Please dress comfortably. Free parking is located on site. Please plan to arrive no later than 930 to park, complete initial forms, and have a snack. Workshop begins promptly at 10 am. And concludes at 4 pm

Registration is $85 per person. If spouse of a veteran, rate discounted to $35. Registration cost includes continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments, art supplies, and certificate of attendance. Registration and pre-payment are required. Workshop is limited to 20 attendants. This session is expected to fill up early. There is a 72-hour cancellation policy; cancellations less than 72-hours are non-refundable.
