Location:
United Methodist Children’s Home
500 S. Columbia Drive
Decatur, Georgia 30030

About the Workshop:
The ArtReach Foundation, Inc.® helps adults and children who have been traumatized by displacement, violence, war, and disaster, both internationally and domestically. During a workshop, participants reconnect with their imagination and connect with others who are experiencing similar stressors and/or loss. The expressive arts allow for healing within the safe space of metaphor.

Workshops are open to all adults including: clinicians, educators, veterans and veteran family members, community members, ArtReach volunteers and Board Members, and others interested in experiencing the ArtReach creative arts group process. Professional providers interested in referring clients to future workshops or adapting our Model to their populations may attend. This Introductory workshop counts toward Phase 1 of the ArtReach Training Program.

One full day of self-care and experiential learning using the therapeutic expressive arts in-group process led by ArtReach Trainers. The expressive arts include drama, art, movement, music, creative writing, meditation and visualization. This work takes place in the “safe space” of a small group setting. The goals are to experience the power of imagination & creativity, increase connections to self and others, and provide an Introduction to The ArtReach Model®.

Leaders: Karimah Dillard, MA, RDT, Co-Director of Training Program, Karen McCarty, LPC, LMFT, Co-Director of Training Program, Carolyn Bacon, CAC11, CCS.
