ArtReach Volunteer of the Year for the Quarter:

Karen L. McCarty, M.S., LMFT, LPC

Karen has practiced at The Link Counseling Center for the last 17 years. She leads two weekly bereavement groups for children as well as seeing individuals, couples and families for psychotherapy.

Her clinical interests include family systems, PTSD, neuroscience, and healing in any form.

She is certified in EMDR and in EAGALA and has trained with Jon Kabat-Zinn in MBSR.

Currently Karen is a co-director of the ArtReach Training Program and the Chair of Project Schools.

Karen’s interest in the military began at birth. Her father was a career Air Force officer and she married a native Atlantan who was in the Navy. Her connection to the military and those who serve in it has remained constant over the years and she is grateful for the opportunity to be among them.
